I’m cleaning up so well…
So I did well last week with the posts for those that chose to stay up-to-date. This week?
Not so much. Then without further adieu, here we go. The weekly review of what’s what, who’s who, what happened, what’s happening, and what’s yet to come…
Marching Band is in FULL swing. I’ll be honest. It feels awesome to be back. Slightly different than I remember… but of course, I’ve never really helped out the marching band. I’ve always been the marcher. But the main thing is that I finally feel like I belong. The first few rehearsals, I didn’t really know where this was going to lead. I’ve already made a handful of new friends and I can’t wait to make more. Oh, and for those that were once a part of the trumpet section @ SHS:
The Moose Hat lives on…
Last week we competed @ Rocky Hill. This was the first time we marched the show and played (last week was a standstill).
79.9 Not a bad place to start. There wasn’t anyone in our division so we just wanted to score well. In addition to that number, we walked away with
Best Overall Effect and we tied for
Best Percussion. LOTS of room to improve on… but again, we were all happy with what accomplished. Next week brings us to Rockville HS. Hopefully we can build on what we have going so far…
The Postseason is upon us.
The time of the year when those that enjoy the fall classic: The Baseball Playoffs… we stay up a little later than we should (especially with work the next day)… we eat a little more than we should, we watch tv more than we should… but all for the love of the game. It even acts as an excuse to get together with some friends that maybe you haven’t seen in a while. I’m finally making plans with my friend Keith after over a year of talking on and off. Not to mention, the other night I hung out with my good friend Nick from “the neighborhood.” Good Times I tell you. Good times. So here we go: The American League brings us theYanks vs. the Twinkies and the Sox vs. the Halos. National League brings us the Astros vs. Braves and the Dodgers vs. the Cards. Prediction time (hopefully without jinxing myself here): We are headed for Round 2 of the Sox vs. the Yankees. America wants this matchup… the fans want this match up… bring it on. It’ll go 6 games with the Yankees making there way to the World Series yet again. (X-Factor: If the Yankees are still Pedro’s Daddies… The Sox can’t pitch Schilling everygame. If Pedro is solid…) As far as the National League goes, I really don’t care all that much. But if I had to choose, I like the Astros playing the Cards with the Astros fighting there way into the World Series after a 7 game series.
The Yankees will be rested… The Astros will be tired from a long series.
Yankees in 6 games.
Besides the Playoffs and Marching Band there isn’t too much else going on… The Apple Harvest is in town last weekend and this weekend. Ummm… can we say, APPLE FRITTERS??? Kinda weird how it’s just our town that is crazy about apple fritters…
The show is going well (Children of Eden)… lots to do still. Soon we’ll have rehearsals with everyone instead of just acting cast and adult chorus. We’re in the process of blocking now…
The fiscal year just ended for ESPN. And yes, it’s been a year and two months (as of 10/11/04) in the Mailroom. If you asked me in the beginning if I would be in the mailroom for over a year, I’d have called you crazy. Here I am. One year aaaaaaaaand tack on two months. So with the fiscal year coming to a close, a bunch of people are getting shuffled around. The good thing about being with a company that constantly grows is that they are ALWAYS looking to fill new positions. I’m trying not to get my hopes up but I would be lying if I said I WOULDN’T be upset if two months went by and I’m still where I am now. Nothing against the guys in the mailroom. I get along with everyone… but making what I’m making gets old after a while. Just have to keep going… be happy that I have a full time job…
I commend you if you actually read this far. I don’t think this post will retain most people’s attention span.
So far so good with my running gameplan. I have the Manchester Road Race coming up in November. Kristen and I ran it in 50 minutes last year… Now she’s raising the bar on me. So I HAVE to stick to my running routine. ?
Looking forward to the playoffs continuing… Kevin comes home this weekend. A little Apple Harvest Festival action and then there’s the Rockville Competition.
Have a good weekend everyone…
Ain’t no class like the one I got…X
