Where to start...

As I write this from over 10,000 feet above the United States, I can't help but to get an overwhelming feeling of gradificaton. Yes, we lost. Yes we ended up flying home much sooner than anticipated. But let's be serious for a second. For the past three weeks, I have travelled to New York City, Spokane, Washington, and San Antonio, Texas. I have been enjoying the company of my close friends(Ian, Lauren, Rich, Matt, Timmer, Stacey, Smalls, Sara) that I have made here at UConn...not to mention I've made a few more. The wall between cheerleaders and band definitely fell down these past few trips. In previous years, the band would do there thing...the cheerleaders would do there thing...now we are all coming home to Hartford, CT much closer than the way we left. Kat, Emily, Diana, Steph, Gary, Nick, Doug...you guys are awesome. CBA!

I don't even know if I can write all the things we did on these past few trips. We laughed so hard our sides hurt... we drank until sun came up(sometimes walking the streets of NYC @ 4am). We made asses of ourselves all over the place:
- riding on carosels
- rocking out to Hanging Tough and MC Hammer
- sporting cowboy hats and Texas Ranger badges
- dancing like an idiot as I portrayed Boo Boo the bear (rock on Rich!)

Yes Kat...I'm writing in my journal...

Anyway...It's easy get caught up it all of the hoopla. Where's our money, where are we going to eat, when are we leaving, where are we going, who are we going with, what are we doing tonight...In order to completely appreciate everything...I had to have a moment of reflection. How do I do that you ask? Simply sit back, take a deep breath and stop what you are doing. Look around. See where you are. See who you are with. Notice what are you doing. I think it hit me the hardest this past Wednesday night while I went out to dinner with some friends. Here we were enjoying some of the finest ribs in San Antonio @ a restaurant, Tony Roma's, on a normal Wednesday evening, in San Antonio, TX...and we were getting paid to do it. Sometimes you just have to laugh out and smile. That's what I call a moment of reflection...

So hear I am...flying home to home sweet Connecticut with some amazing people and memories that will last a lifetime. And you can't take that away from me. Not now...not ever.

Thanks to everyone in the Pep Band for making my experience what it was. I'll miss you guys. For those that are coming back, keep it going.

Unfortunately...with three exams waiting for me tomorrow. I've got a date with Systems Design, Web Development, and Business Management.
