Just like Deion Sanders... I'm back...
The new layout has me inspired. I wanted to write last night but honestly, after I finally got everything to work properly, the ONLY thing I wanted to do was get to bed. The weekend totally bit me in the ass today. I was tired as @#$%@$#. Perhaps I should be admitting that I can't "hang with those crazy college kids."
Ehhh... I don't think I'm ready to admit that. ;)
By the way, Paul and Snookie... you guys get the "I don't care what it takes, I'm finishing this damn Power Hour" Award. It may have knocked you down for the count, but you as hell went out with guns-a-blazin.
Rock on the Evil 80's Power Hour.
I always come to this point... when I want to talk about so many different things but I can NEVER remember them when it comes down to typing. I'll start with a mini summer review.
Concerts Attended: Incubus, Ben Folds/Guster/Rufus Wainwright, DMB (kinda)
Incubus was a good time with Mez-tek. Didn't know too many of the new tracks but came away that night with a few gems. DMB was fun in the parking lot before the concert. I can't remember too much after that. The BF/G/RW show was by FAR the best show of the summer. Thanx to a certain individual not ONLY did the FIVE of us get a ticket upgrade (Jared, Paul, Kate, Matt, and me)... but I freakin went backstage to meet everyone from Guster as well as Ben Folds himself. HOLY @#$%@$@#!!!! Thank thank you thank you thank you to this person. (I hope she reads this now...)
What else... can't stay on one topic too long here. The next big thing, Nick and Uncle Roland's trip to CT. AMAZING TIME. Nick and I totally pulled a gag on everyone in the family (Mom, Dad, and Uncle Roland). My dad thought I was performing an illusion at the ESPN company party. When in reality Nick and I were just setting him up so that I could make Nick appear in our house.
Hook... line... and sinker. It was perfect.
Minus the 1/2 hour Nick spent in this tiny tiny basket waiting for everyone to come home.
There's a few things I haven't touched on... but I can't make this too long. So I'll close with one more thing. How could I possible not mention:
Broadway Rocks. I went into this show thinking that I want to meet new people and enjoy myself. Maybe even land a contact if things went well.
What started as one thing... ended as something completely different. The rights to the show, Grease, were lost and we were forced to throw something together. A Cabaret if you will... songs from a vareity of shows that portrayed the 50's theme. It was COMPLETELY thrown together and I must say poorly organized. But somehow, we all got through it - and actually had a decent show by the end. Songs came together, the dances we had were pretty solid... even the costumes weren't too bad.
(I definitely had the coolest Greaser jacket.) Now I'm not ashamed to admit this... and this is an exclusive here:
But I am glad that I did the show.
I met some AWESOME people which I hope to see in the near future. I enjoyed what we did on stage. I even enjoyed working with the staff on various aspects. I only hope that next time I decide to do a Naugatuck show... we don't try to do three months of work in 7 days time. I've heard rumors of what the next undertaking will be. Nothing is confirmed. But I will admit that
I did in fact enjoy myself. (Hard to believe after all of the bitching you all heard me dish out about this show.) So listen up you Naugatuckians... let's figure something out soon ok?
Alright folks... that's a rap. I think I have enough on my plate for one evening. We have Jack stories to tell (the boy is ONE!)... Trips to talk about (camping!!!!)... UConn Football right around the corner, pictures, pictures, pictures, and a whole lot more. All that will have to happen another night. So I will try to live up to my end of this deal here. Just as long as you promise to procrastinate by reading this. Haha...
And like that...he's gone.
